In the Classroom
Natural Science

Kathryn presents a "compare and
contrast" report on American Alligators and American
Crocodiles to the class.
Summary of Program Goals
The student
will:
- develop and use a science vocabulary appropriate to
his unit and level of study.
- develop and awareness of specific changes over time by
describing events.
- observe and describe familiar patterns.
- sequence a set of events.
- use his senses to collect and describe information
from objects/events observed.
- use appropriate tools, instruments, and techniques to
make, record, and interpret data.
- follow sets of instructions to produce specific
outcomes.
- develop and awareness of growth/developmental cycles
in himself, as well as all living and non-living things.
- use observations to classify.
- develop an understanding of formal scientific
classification systems, including Linnaean
(genus/species) classification.
- develop awareness of the environment and the impact
changes produce over time.
- question; consider “what if?” and “why?” when
confronted with new situations and develop
investigations to answer his questions.
- recognize and appreciate the contributions of workers
in science both now and in the past.
- develop an appreciation of and respect for God's
creation.
